Vacation - Shift Employees accrue at the following rate: 1-9 years service: 7 shifts or 168 hours per year; 10-19 years service: 10 shifts or 240 hours per year; 20 years of service and over: 15 shifts or 360 hours.
Sick
Leave -
Shift personnel accrue 12 hours per month (or 6 shifts) of sick leave time
per year. Fire Department personnel are permitted to carry over no more than
1080 hours of sick leave on January 1 of each year.
Comp Time Sell Back - All City employees are allowed to sell back 20 hours of comp time twice annually.
Funeral Leave - Up to 3 shifts per year.
Military
Leave -
Up to 15 shifts per year.
Holidays - There are 10 official City holidays per year.

Fire Department shift personnel are paid in accordance with F.L.S.A. requirements for holiday pay.
Insurance - Life, medical, dental, and optional insurance is available to the employee and his/her dependents.
Retirement - The employee is 100% vested after 5years of service. Full time and/or Regular Part Time employees must work at least 1,000 hours in a year.
Tuition Reimbursement - After six-months of service with the City, an employee may receive tuition or books reimbursement for job-related courses as approved by the department head.
Incentive Pay - Cumulative Incentive pay is available for Intermediate, Advanced, Masters State Certifications, E.M.T. and E.C.A. certifications. See Fire Department Pay Scale for details.
Longevity Pay - Longevity pay for regular full-time employees is earned at $5.00 per month for each consecutive year of employment.
